Leslie Jorgensen of The Colorado Statesman online newspaper covers Dean's campaign announcement. Here's an excerpt:
"LOVELAND — Dean Madere, a self-described “grassroots candidate” for the 4th Congressional seat held by Democrat U.S. Rep. Betsy Markey, contends that the Republican Party has lost its way.
 Dean Madere
“We haven’t been focusing on the right issues,” declared the 40-year-old political newcomer, who believes he’s got the right stuff to get the GOP back on track and win the Republican nomination to challenge Markey.
“We have to push forward our constitutional values — and make it clear that this country is a republic — not a democracy,” said Madere, who officially launched his campaign on Wednesday.
Madere joins a crowded field of GOP contenders that includes state House Minority Leader Cory Gardner, of Yuma; University of Colorado Regent Tom Lucero, of Loveland; and former Fort Collins City Councilman Diggs Brown, a Special Forces major in the Colorado National Guard who announced his candidacy on Nov. 15."

Jeff Stahla of the Loveland Reporter-Herald also covered Dean's campaign announcment. An excerpt is below:
"Vowing to return the country to the ideals envisioned by the Founding Fathers, Loveland resident Dean Madere announced his candidacy Wednesday evening for the Republican nomination in the 4th Congressional District.
Madere, who is a board member of the local 9/12 Project group, said national government has become too filled with members who are out of touch.
“We need average citizens to step up and do this,” said Madere, who is a territory manager for Lennox.
The 40-year-old father of three said he plans, if elected, to make sure members of both parties are made aware when constitutional liberties are in jeopardy.

John Tomastic of the Colorado Independent, an online news source, also covered the Candidate Search 2010 event last friday. Here is an excerpt:
"Friday night, self-identifying “average person” Dean Madere made his first real candidate appearance at the Ranch in Loveland, where the Tea Party of Northern Colorado and local Glenn Beck-born 9-12 groups hosted a well-attended “meet the candidates” forum. Running to challenge U.S. Rep. Betsy Markey, excitable Madere prowled the stage in a distinctly nondesigner gray tweed blazer, his bangs tossing back and forth as he paced before the crowd. Madere seemed to be trying to suck air out of the microphone between phrases."

"...Madere, a political newcomer and member of the Loveland 9-12 Project, one of the organizers, got a warm reception from the audience to his constant attacks on politicians. 'I'm tired of only having choices of voting for politicians. We need real Americans to run for office,' Madere said."
